Visit the open-air museum of Göreme Valley, an incredible Byzantine monastic complex featuring rock-cut churches with beautiful frescoes. Visit the Avcilar and Güvercinlik valleys, which boast spectacular views of the so-called Fairy Chimneys. Lunch at a local restaurant.
We will continue with a visit to the Pasabagi or Çavusin Valley. During the excursion, we will visit some typical carpet, onyx, and turquoise workshops. At the end, we will return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Note: During your stay in Cappadocia, you will have the OPTIONAL opportunity to take a hot-air balloon ride at dawn or participate in a folk dance show in a traditional cave at dusk, with unlimited regional drinks. Please inquire about additional fees.
Day 4
Cappadocia
Breakfast. Departure to admire this fascinating region of lunar landscapes, formed over centuries on the thick, soft layer of lava sculpted by the two nearby volcanoes. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the village of Avanos, which is famous today for its pottery. The craft of pottery dates back to the Hittite period and was particularly developed in Avanos. We can visit a pottery factory. In the afternoon, visit the incredible underground city of Ozkonak or Kaymakli (visit one of them), used by Christian communities as a refuge to escape persecution. At the end, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
