Its original walls and bastions, preserved to this day, are evidence of a heritage preserved for more than three and a half centuries. As one of the best-preserved cities in Southeast Asia, it has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Next, we will depart for Yala. Upon arrival, we will board a jeep to enter the most visited National Park in the country. Here you will find herds of elephants, sloth bears, jackals, flocks of birds, as well as the highest density of leopards in the world, making Yala one of the best destinations in the country. Transfer to Tissamaharama. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast and departure for Ella, a small town in the middle of the mountains offering spectacular views and leisurely walks amidst nature, tea plantations, temples, and waterfalls. Passing through this area allows you to enjoy the green and beautiful landscapes of the central plateau, such as Ravana Waterfall. Continue to Nuwara Eliya, a picturesque town on the shores of Lake Gregory, known as "Little England" for its colonial architecture or "the city of light" for its meaning in Sinhala. Continue to Kandy. This evening we will enjoy a public performance of typical Sri Lankan cultural dances. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4
Kandy – Matale – Dambulla – Habarana
After breakfast, we will begin a city tour of Kandy, a World Heritage Site, which was the last capital of Sri Lanka's kings before falling under the British Empire. We will visit Dalama Maligawa. This is where the Sacred Tooth Relic is enshrined and preserved, and is undoubtedly the city's greatest attraction. It is one of the sacred sites for Buddhists around the world. We will then depart for Malale, a beautiful agricultural area, where we will visit a spice garden to learn about the island's wide variety of spices and their properties. We will also enjoy a 10-minute Ayurvedic massage.
Continue to Dambulla. The Dambulla Rock Temple is the most impressive cave temple in Sri Lanka. The complex of five caves contains around 150 Buddha statues. This World Heritage Site also features images and frescoes illustrating Buddhist beliefs, making it the largest area with such paintings found anywhere in the world.
Continue to Habarana. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5
Habarana – Pidurangala – Polonnaruwa – Habarana
Breakfast and departure to Pidurangala Rock, a secret treasure now gaining notoriety as one of the most spectacular sites in the region. Its history is closely linked to Lion Rock, Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and the king who made it his royal residence. Departure to Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 9th to the 13th century AD, where we will see ancient palaces, temples, stupas, and Buddhas carved into the rock. Continue to Hiriwaduna. We will experience Sinhalese culture in all its fervor by taking a cultural tour in the village of Hiriwaduna, where we will take a walk in the lotus flower pond, and a tour of a Sinhalese village on an ox-drawn cart that has been used since ancient times.
