Day 1

Tunis/Hammamet

Arrival in Tunis. Welcome and transfer to the hotel with assistance. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Tunisia/Hammamet – Kairouan – Sbeitla – Gafsa – Tozeur

Breakfast. Departure by 4x4 for a visit to the fourth holy city of Kairouan after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. Visit the Great Mosque of Jemaa Sidi Oqba, one of the oldest places of prayer in Islam, the Aghlabite Basin, and the Barber's Mosque and Madrasa, built around the burial site of a companion of the Prophet, a pure masterpiece of Arab art. Walk through the old town and souks of Kairouan and discover its magnificent craftsmanship. Continue to Sbeitla. Lunch. Visit the magnificent site of Sbeitla, the Roman city with its monumental gate. Continue to Tozeur via Gafsa. Arrival. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Tozeur – Chebika – Tamerza – Mides – Nefta – Ong Djemal – Tozeur

Breakfast. Departure to discover the exceptional mountain oases: Chebika, Tamerza, and Midès, a true suspended paradise that has become a favorite location for great filmmakers over the years. You will be offered a 1:30 a.m. hike in the magical setting of the Midès Canyon, to soak up the magnificent landscapes worthy of the Wild West. Lunch will be served in Tamerza. In the afternoon, departure to discover Nefta, the religious city of Djerid, and the most beautiful oasis in the entire region. Visit its oasis, called La Corbeille, hidden at the bottom of a cirque with arid and ochre walls and irrigated by 152 springs, which houses the marabout of Sidi Bou Ali, the patron saint of Nefta. Continuation over the magnificent dunes of ONG Djemal, as well as the set of the famous Star Wars film. Visit and return to Tozeur in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Tozeur – Chott El Djerid – Douz – Ksar Ghilane

Breakfast. Departure for Tozeur, capital of Djerid, and visit its palm grove with 400.000 palm trees and its verdant gardens. We will learn about the water distribution system, the different cultures that exist there, and the traditions and way of life of the "Khames" (Oasis workers). We will walk through the old medina of Tozeur, its narrow streets forming a veritable labyrinth, whose typical sand-colored buildings will enchant you. On the way to Douz, we will cross Chott El Djerid, a salt lake between the sea and the desert, where we may see a mirage. We will make a photo stop in El Chott and visit the village of Bechri Fatnassa and its famous frozen dunes. Arrive in Douz, which was an important supply center for livestock and, especially, camels for nomads. Visit the city, the palm grove, and optional camel ride along the golden sands (reservation and payment required at the destination). Lunch. In the afternoon, depart for Ksar Ghilane. Settle into the Berber camp (tents for 2 to 4 people with shared bathrooms and showers). Free time. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

Ksar Ghilane – Ksar Haddada – Matmata – Gabes – Sfax

Breakfast. Departure for Ksar Haddada to visit Ksours. Departure for the discovery of Matmata, the star of southern Tunisia, and the place where the Berber population left the ground for the basement. Visit of this magnificent Berber village, built on the mountainside and offering a lunar landscape riddled with giant holes, which great filmmakers used to make famous films such as "Star Wars" and "Adventurers of the Lost Ark." Visit of a troglodyte house and the filming location of the famous film "Star Wars." Berber lunch in Matmata. Drive to Sfax via Gabès - Stop at the EL JARA market. Arrival in Sfax and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6

Sfax – El Jem – Sousse – Port el Kantaoui – Hammamet/Tunisia

Breakfast. Departure for a panoramic tour of the city of Sfax and its ancient Medina. Continue to El Jem, the ancient Roman city of Thysdrus, one of the richest cities in Roman Tunisia. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its amphitheater, with its massive architecture, is the most impressive Roman monument after the Colosseum and the Colosseum of Capua. Departure for a visit to Sousse, the ancient Hadrumete. Lunch in Sousse. Visit of the Medina of Sousse and its famous Port El Kantaoui. Continue to Hammamet or Tunis. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7

Hammamet/Tunis – Bardo Museum – Medina of Tunis – Carthage – Sidi Bou Said – Hammamet/Tunis

Breakfast. Visit the famous Bardo Museum, home to the most beautiful and rich collection of mosaics in the world. Visit the Medina of Tunis, with its magnificent monuments, mosques, and lively and colorful souks, where we love to lose ourselves. In the afternoon, visit Carthage and the magnificent village of Sidi Bou Said. Walking tour of Sidi Bou Said, an ancient marabout village and a jewel of traditional Tunisian architecture, with its whitewashed houses, blue doorways, and moucharabiehs. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8

Hammamet – Tunisia

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your departing flight. End of services.
