Itineraries
Day 1
Hanoi
Arrival at Hanoi International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Remain of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 2
Hanoi
Breakfast. City tour including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (exterior visit), Ho Chi Minh's House on Stilts, the Governor's Palace (exterior visit), the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Tran Quoc Pagoda. Lunch. Afterward, we travel to the Hoa Lo Prison-Museum, better known as "the Hilton" to the hundreds of American prisoners who were incarcerated there from 54 to 73. We continue to the Temple of Literature, the country's first university founded in 1070, and a visit to Hoan Kiem Lake or the Lake of the Restored Sword. We take a cyclo ride through Hanoi's Old Quarter, also known as the 36-street neighborhood, each of which was once known for its artisans and workshops specializing in a particular profession. Afterward, return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 3
Hanoi – Halong/Lan Ha
Breakfast. Departure for Halong Bay (or Lan Ha Bay, a part of Halong), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a journey through the farmlands of the Red River Delta and the landscape of rice fields. Arrival in Halong Bay and boarding a boat. Lunch on board. After lunch, we will continue cruising and discovering the many islands in the bay. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 4
Halong/La Ha – Hanoi
Early risers can participate in a Tai Chi demonstration on the upper deck. A light breakfast will then be served, followed by a lavish brunch. The cruise continues through the myriad of islands and islets, visiting the most important ones.
Around 10:30-11:00, we'll disembark and begin our return journey to Hanoi. Overnight stay.
Day 5
Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc - Hanoi
Breakfast. We depart in the morning for Ninh Binh province. Once there, in Tam Coc, we'll board a small rowboat to explore an unforgettable landscape where we'll discover local villages, spectacular caves, and endless landscapes. Next, we'll visit Bich Dong Pagoda, a site nicknamed "The Second Most Beautiful Cave in Vietnam" by an ancient king. Lunch at a local restaurant. We'll then drive to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam until 1010, leaving the temples of Kings Dinh and Le as souvenirs. Afterward, we'll return to Hanoi, arriving around 5:XNUMX p.m. Overnight stay.
Day 6
Hanoi – Luang Prabang
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang (included). Arrival in Luang Prabang and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 7
Luang Prabang
Breakfast. Departure and transfer to the Elephant Camp, where elephants from other provinces of Laos were rescued from hard labor and cared for here. You can feed the elephants bananas (at your own expense) and make friends with them. Later, you will take a ride on the majestic elephant through the dense jungle and to the Mekong River. Lunch and afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 8
Luang Prabang
Breakfast. Visit Wat Phou Khouay temple, where you will have the opportunity to chat with the monks and learn more about the teachings of Buddha. Afterwards, visit Wat Sane and Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most beautiful Buddhist temples in the capital, located between the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. Lunch. In the afternoon, visit Wat Tat Luang temple, the resting place of Luang Wat, the last king of Laos. We will continue to the Ock Pop Tok Living Handicraft Center to learn about the world of Lao textiles and crafts. We will end at Mount Phousi to enjoy a spectacular sunset and panoramic views of Luang Prabang. Overnight stay.
Day 9
Luang Prabang – Siem Reap
This day, we wake up early at 05:30 a.m. to see the queues of monks leaving the pagodas to beg for alms and visit the morning market. We then return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and continue to Kuang Si Waterfall, which consists of several turquoise pools that cascade down into small waterfalls. If you wish, you will have the opportunity to refresh yourself in the azure natural pools. Return to Luang Prabang and transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap (included). Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 10
Siem Reap
Breakfast. We begin with a visit to Angkor Thom. Departure by tuk-tuk to the south gate of the complex. Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (54th century), the Bayon Temple, unique for its 200 towers decorated with XNUMX smiling faces of Avolokitesvara; the Baphuon Temple, built under Jayavarman I; the Phimeanakas and the terraces of the Leper King and the Elephants; and the royal chambers. We continue to Ta Prohm, one of the most spectacular temples in the area, which has remained relatively unchanged since its discovery. Lunch is served, and in the afternoon, we visit the most famous of the temples: Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its famous five towers are featured on the Cambodian flag. This XNUMXth-century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the first example of classical Khmer architecture and art. Finally, we watch the sunset over Angkor Wat. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 11
Siem Reap - Bangkok
Breakfast. Boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake to visit the floating villages. On the way back, we'll stop at Artisans D'Angkor, a traditional crafts project. Lunch and free time. (This visit is only available if your flight departs after 18.00:XNUMX PM. Early departures will not be refunded.) Transfer to the airport for your flight to Bangkok (included).

Day 12
Bangkok
Breakfast and overnight stay. Free day in the city. At your destination, you will be informed of the exact day of your "City and Temple Tour with Grand Palace." After breakfast, you will depart by bus from your hotel for a tour of Bangkok's main avenues to the bustling Chinatown neighborhood. Our first stop will be Wat Traimit, better known as the Temple of the Golden Buddha, which houses a 5-ton solid gold Buddha image steeped in history. The next stop will be Wat Pho, or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, one of the largest in the world at 46 meters long. Next, you will visit the impressive Grand Palace complex, one of the most beautiful in the world for its exquisite decoration blending traditional Thai style with Renaissance influences. The visit to the Grand Palace includes a visit to Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the most important in all of Thailand. On your return to the hotel, you will visit the state-owned gemstone factory. NOTE: For the visit to the Grand Palace, you must wear ankle-length trousers and a long-sleeved shirt/t-shirt or elbow-length shirt.
